I have been playing percussion in several bands and as a guest musician for the past 10 years, including the genres of Latin, Funk, Blues and Jazz.
Revelation Groove
I’ve been a band member of Revelation Groove since 2015. Revelation Groove is an eclectic Brisbane-based Latin-jazz-funk fusion band playing original music. Our sound includes electric Bossa Novas and Jazzy Tangos with a Cuban edge. Our influences range from Astor Piazzola and Nina Simone to Herbie Hancock and Miles Davis.
The band features: Remi Forcet (keys, accordion and vocals), John Esdaile (guitar and vocals), Sarah Meharg (vocals), Caaden Goleby-Newman (saxophone), Jason Brian (drums), Harry Staines (bass), Jane Way (violin), Natascha Matthes (percussion).
Other projects
I’m also a member of Harvey Blues & The Keitels, and have been playing as a guest musician with various bands including the 2021 “Celebration of Amy Winehouse” concert with Blues Arcadia, Little Mel (Mel Lathouras), and previously with Franké (Blues/Jazz) and Mambises (Latin).
My main instruments are congas, bongos and various hand percussion.
